Mission Control Consoles

There are ten (10) mission control consoles which are used to monitor shuttle systems and phases during a mission. The following lists the consoles:

• APU/HYD Console - Auxiliary power
• BOOSTER Console - Shuttle Main Engine control
• EECOM Console - Electrical and Environmental control
• FAO Console - Flight Activities Officer
• FDO Console - Flight Dynamics Officer
• FLIGHT Console - Flight Director
• GNC Console - Guidance and navigation control
• INCO Console - Instrumentation and Telemetry control
• OMS Console - Orbital maneuvering engines control
• SIM SUP Console - Simulation Supervisor

Many of the consoles have switch status panels similar to the panel below. These panels are used to monitor the status of valves, switches and Talk Back Indicators.
